World Suicide Prevention Day - 10th September

Toolkit for trusted partners and funders

Every year on the 10th of September, organisations and communities around the world come together to raise awareness of how we can create a world where fewer people die by suicide.

Samaritans is highlighting the importance of the language we use when we talk about suicide, especially when asking someone you're worried about if they're suicidal.

Samaritans' view is that fewer people die by suicide. They are there, day or night, for anyone who’s struggling to cope, who needs someone to listen without judgement or pressure.

Samaritans is not only for the moment of crisis, but are also taking action to prevent the crisis.

Samaritans have put a 'This World Suicide Prevention Day' toolkit together to provide you with tips and tools to share with colleagues to help support them, as well as suggested content to help you support the day and raise awareness on social media.

Every life lost to suicide is a tragedy. And we know that suicide can be prevented, it’s not inevitable.
