Out for Consultation

Torbay Public Health team have developed a Guidance for a Healthy Drinks Policy for Primary Schools. The aim of this guidance is to support schools  in promoting healthy drink choices across school communities and to provide a framework that schools can tailor to their setting while still promoting health and wellbeing for pupils and families.

We know that what pupils drink during the school day affects their concentration, behaviour, weight, oral health, and overall wellbeing. Schools already do a huge amount to support healthy habits, and this guidance is intended to make that work easier and more consistent across Torbay and for schools to adapt, adopt, or simply use it as a reference for their own policies.

This guidance is out for consultation. All comments to be received before 11.59pm on Tuesday 31 March.
