With 1 in 6 children aged 7-16 having a probable mental health disorder and tomorrow marking World Mental Health Day (10th October 2023), now is the perfect time to facilitate open discussions about wellbeing with your class.

In support of this, PHE have launched two new mental wellbeing resources for pupils aged 5-11. These 'What is wellbeing?' assembly and 'Self-care' resources can help young people understand the meaning of wellbeing and explore activities to help them feel good and boost their physical and mental health.

These free resources link to the Health Education and PSHE curriculums and are accredited by the PSHE Association and the NHS. They include an immersive film
featuring young people speaking about their thoughts on self-care, worksheets and scenario-based activities that can be delivered flexibly across the school timetable.

Head to the School Zone today to download resources ahead of World Mental Health Day, and be sure to sign up if you haven’t already.
